"subject: important"

Dear john,
We need 30,000 donors in the next 48 hours to help Hillary win on March 4.

I think everyone knows how important the races we face on March 4 are. But there's one thing you need to know: I am relying on you to win.

You are my best supporters, and over the past weeks you have made this campaign your own. Now with just a few days to go before the critical March 4 contests, I have to ask you to act one more time -- because you can make a difference on Tuesday.

We are making our final push in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont and we need you to reach deep and make a contribution to my campaign today.

Just imagine if 30,000 online supporters like you each make a contribution to our campaign in the next 48 hours. That will send a message that voters in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont will hear loud and clear.

Contribute now to win big on March 4.

I'm campaigning nonstop between now and Tuesday. You and I know what is at stake -- our ability to stand up and fight for the values we believe in.

We've defied expectations before. We've won when they counted us out. Together we can win big on March 4 and keep on winning until we are in the White House.

But it all comes down to what we do today. If 30,000 of you make your voice heard with a contribution of any size in the next 48 hours, you will be speaking loud and clear with one voice -- a voice that no one will be able to ignore.

Contribute now to win in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

You have sacrificed and spoken out, given your time and money so that we can win. But I have never needed you like I do today, and I hope that you will be there for me.

Thank you so much for everything that you do.

Sincerely,

Hillary

huge crowds in texas

We are on the air in Texas with our new television ad "Stand Up." Crowds are huge. Momentum. Momentum.

As someone I have counted on time and again to make a difference for our campaign I am asking you to make a difference again and help us raise $200,000 by tonight at midnight so we can blanket the state with radio advertising and get out the vote calls.

Can I count on you again for a contribution of $25 or more?

Our message is resonating and what we need today is the ability to expand our reach and contact as many voters as possible in these final days before the primary.

Will you help us with an immediate online contribution? Or will you commit to finding someone to take your place?

Help us finish strong here in Texas.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

urgent

That's right, over 10,000 comments have been left on our campaign blog since 1 AM this morning. An incredible total. The response is smashing every record we have had on our blog. Voters are clearly hungry for a healthy discussion of ideas.

Today, I need you to help me smash our March 4 fundraising goal of $1.5 million. We are at $948,646 raised. Please make an immediate contribution of $25 or more and help us reach our goal days ahead of schedule. If everyone that co-signed the letter made a small contribution today we would reach our goal by midnight.

Please make an immediate contribution of $25 or more today. Lets show the pundits and voters nationwide that there is plenty of fight left in this campaign.

From the campaign trail and with the deepest gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

letter to mccain

Will you co-sign my letter to John McCain asking him to consider a Lincoln-Douglas debate before the March 4 primary?

You can find the letter here.

Now that the race for the Republican nomination is down to just two candidates, I believe this is the time for a real discussion about our vision for the future of this great country. I believe a Lincoln Douglas-style debate so that voters can better understand our views on critical issues such as health care, education, energy independence, terrorism and national security is just what we need.

Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, have had recent opportunities to underscore the differences in their positions. It seems only fitting to me that Republican primary voters are offered the same.

So please co-sign my letter to John McCain and ask your friends and family to do so as well.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

gap closing on mccain

We are on the move in Texas and you can feel the momentum building. I need you to make an immediate contribution of $25 or more and then find one other person to match your contribution.

The response we are seeing on the ground is gratifying and as we begin a statewide blitz of television advertising you can feel the momentum shifting.

Will you contribute today?

A win in Texas will show the media and voters this race is far from over.

So please help us today by making a contribution. There is no doubt that a win in Texas will fan the flames of the grassfire that started in Iowa and spread to Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kansas and West Virginia.

Please contribute $25 or more online today and keep us moving forward.

The polls are tightening and our new advertising will help us gain traction with voters. Expanding that advertising thanks to your financial support today will add to our momentum heading into March 4.

Every dollar you contribute will be turned into advertising in Texas. Please support our campaign today.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

something exciting in texas

Play video
Dear john,

I wish you could be out on the trail with Hillary to see the energy and enthusiasm that is there for her every day.

That enthusiasm, like your support, means so much to her in her historic run for the White House. The incredible energy every day in Texas and Ohio is something you should see for yourself.

So I wanted to show you this video of two recent rallies in south Texas, to give you an idea of the kind of excitement Hillary gets to see every day. Take a look and show your support for Hillary:

I know you share that crowd's enthusiasm for Hillary! I appreciate everything you're doing to help her win, and Hillary does too.

Main State Convention and More

February 27, 2008

Dear Friends:
It has now been almost a month since the majority of Maine municipal Republican caucuses were held. As you probably know Ron Paul did very well. He came in third in the presidential preference poll, edged out by John McCain by a very slim margin. The winner of the preference poll, Mitt Romney has ended his candidacy and thrown his support to John McCain. Ron Paul has conceded that there is now little chance of a brokered convention, but has pledged to continue his campaign to bring his message of peace, freedom and prosperity to the Republican convention. The prize now is to have a significant influence in the future direction of the Republican party.
All of you who were part of our effort in Maine should be very proud of what you achieved. However our work is not yet over. The presidential preference polls at the Maine Republican Caucuses on Feb 1st, 2nd and 3rd were an indicator of grass roots support, but have no impact on the selection of delegates to the State GOP convention. Our campaign actually did better than McCain in electing delegates. Those delegates will elect delegates to the Republican National Convention at the state convention on May 2nd and 3rd. Our task now is to spread Ron Paul's message by electing national convention delegates. We now have two months to organize our effort to accomplish this task. Here are some details of what we are doing:
State Convention Delegates
  • Stavros Mendros has remained on staff to assist with organizing our delegates. If you are a precinct leader and have a list of Paul delegates selected at your municipal caucus (even if it is just you) please e-mail their names and town to stavros@ronpaul2008.com . If you are a delegate, but don't have a Ron Paul precinct leader in your town, please do the same.
  • Delegate fees are due to the Maine Republican Party no later than March 27th. The fee is $25 and pays for the cost of attending the convention, both delegates and alternates must pay the fee to attend the convention. Some GOP town and city committees are asking for checks from individuals sooner. Please cooperate if you can. If you cannot pay the fee, please email ME@RonPaul2008.com with your name and town. We have already paid the Maine GOP for delegate fees from the campaign, but there is still some unallocated money available.
  • Stay in touch with your local meetup groups. These groups are now for delegate organization and should be limited to volunteers and delegates.
  • If you are not a delegate, but would like to be one, please e-mail stavros@ronpaul2008.com . There is still an opportunity to fill some delegate slots by March 20th.
State Convention preparation
  • The Ron Paul campaign will have a booth at the State Convention. The Kennebec County group will be in charge of designing, setting up and staffing the booth. Peter and Bonnie Tucker have agreed to organize this effort. If you want to help out please e-mail them at bjpktucker@yahoo.com .
  • We will also be hosting a hospitality suite at the state convention. If you would like to help with the hospitality suite please contact me at ken@ronpaul2008.com
  • If you are a delegate please plan to attend the convention for both days. If you absolutely cannot attend for two days, May 2nd is the most important of the two days.

Other matters
  • Some Ron Paul activists are now running for state office. This is a great way to continue to spread the message of freedom. Wayne Leach from Winslow is running for State Senate, and so is Tom Golebiewski from Raymond. If you are interested in running for office check out this link: http://mainegov-images.informe.org/ethics/pdf/2008_candidate_guide.pdf .
  • Please remove Ron Paul signs from any public property and roadways. State law requires that we take down these signs. Feel free to proudly display your signs on private property
  • Please stay in touch. If you have questions or concerns email me ken@ronpaul2008.com . Meanwhile I will send out another update in a few weeks.

Yours Truly,

Ken Lindell

what matters in this race

Close the gap!
Dear john,

This is a hard-fought campaign. You and I both know it. And now the Obama campaign has upped the stakes again.

In just 24 hours, you closed the $1.3 million advertising gap with Obama this week. In response, their campaign has bought another $1.9 million worth of airtime.

For Hillary to win on March 4, we must close this gap -- and we have to do it quickly. We cannot let this race be decided by Obama's spending advantage on the air.

Help Hillary make up the $1.9 million spending gap in 24 hours with your contribution today.

The ads we put on the air matter. The number of phone calls we make matters. The rides we give to the polls matter. And most important of all, what you do right now matters.

We have the best candidate with the best ideas -- and she's a fighter. She's knows that you are standing with her every step of the way.

So let's show the Obama campaign that they can't win this race just by throwing more money at it.

Let's match that $1.9 million ad buy of his and make sure this is a race of ideas, because that's a race that we know Hillary will win.

Contribute now to help us raise $1.9 million in 24 hours.

You've shown Hillary that you are there for her when she needs you, and it means so much to the both of us. Thank you for all you do.

Sincerely,
Bill Clinton

keep it up

Dear matt,

We've had John McCain on the defensive all week. Keep it up.It's been a bad week for John McCain -- and it's only going to get worse.

First, we filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission on Monday. Then thousands of Americans stood up and signed their support for an investigation into McCain's rejection of the law he agreed to when he asked for federal matching funds. Many of you spread it through your personal networks, making sure your friends knew about this startling story.

Now McCain and the lobbyists who work for him have scrambled into action, trying to obscure the facts and hoping that the public wouldn't pay attention.

Thanks to our efforts and grassroots action across the country, this story just won't go away -- we've had him on the defensive all week. Could it be that Americans are tired of leaders who think they're above the law?

It's time to step up the pressure. People are starting to learn about the real John McCain: a "reformer" who breaks the very rules he wrote and "maverick" who surrounds himself with corporate lobbyists.

Donations for people like you help us pay for the critical legal, organizing and communications efforts -- but we need to keep it going. While Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama campaign across the country, we're responsible for making sure John McCain doesn't get ahead. Contribute today and make sure the American people get the truth:

http://www.democrats.org/KeepItUp

New York Times: "Did Senator John McCain of Arizona benefit unfairly from rules that automatically placed him on the ballot in Ohio once he qualified for public campaign financing?"

Conservative George Will referred to McCain as a "situational ethicist."

Even the right-wing American Spectator admits that Governor Dean has a point:

So conservatives who enjoy seeing McCain suffer a campaign finance-induced headache are in the unenviable position of siding with DNC chairman Howard Dean.

Bet they love that!

John McCain is proving to be no different from the swift-boating, vote-suppressing Republicans of years past. That's why we have to hit him hard and hit him fast now, before his campaign has the chance to pick up more momentum. From proving him wrong when he said he was doing "exactly what Howard Dean did," to showing how he used his federal funding to get on the ballot in places like Kentucky, we're not letting John McCain off the hook.

Both Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama will need the full support and resources that the Democratic Party has to offer to stand up to John McCain. Contribute $20 or $100 today:

http://www.democrats.org/KeepItUp

John McCain has worked hard on the campaign trail to portray himself as a "maverick" in Washington. But it's becoming clearer and clearer that a McCain presidency would just offer a third Bush term.

He has another reason to be worried: While his campaign struggles to get on its feet, Americans are embracing Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Democrats have record voter turnout and record fundraising numbers all across the country.

Our Party will have the candidate, organization, and resources we need to keep John McCain on defense now through November.

Do your part to secure a Democratic White House in 2008. Make a donation now:

Thanks for everything,

something extraordinary

Matthew --

Make calls todayEarly this morning, we reached one million people owning a piece of this campaign.

Think about that for a minute.

One million people like you own a stake in a grassroots movement that is not just competing, but thriving, in a political process that's been dominated by special interests for far too long.

You have given your time, energy, and passion to bring about change.

And it's working.

I cannot thank you enough for all you've done, but there are still millions of Americans who remain on the outside of the political process. They are skeptical of politicians and disillusioned by the partisan gridlock of Washington, D.C.

Right now, we have an opportunity to reach out to those people and show them that the change we need is possible.

That's why, on this historic day, we are committing ourselves to a new goal: calling one million people before the March 4th primaries.

Tuesday's contests in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont could be decisive in this race.

Help mark today's historic achievement by picking up the phone, reaching out to potential supporters, and inviting them to join our movement for change:

http://my.barackobama.com/call

No other campaign has ever reached one million donors while still in a competitive primary, and I am grateful for your generosity.

This is an important milestone, not just for our campaign, but also for our party. This level of support will be invaluable as we head toward a general election in which grassroots participation will be more important than ever.

The next six days could decide whether we get that chance. It will take a massive effort across the country to Get Out The Vote on Tuesday, March 4th.

That means reaching out, making phone calls, and building this movement one person at a time.

You can use our online phonebanking tool to call potential supporters in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont from the comfort of your own home.

Start making calls right now:

http://my.barackobama.com/call

When we first started this campaign more than a year ago, the Washington establishment dismissed the idea of a grassroots movement for change.

Then, when we started winning caucuses and primaries in every part of the country, they called our victories "insignificant." They accused us of spreading "false hope" and claimed that we needed a "reality check."

Today, no one can say this movement is not real.

More than one million people have taken ownership of this campaign -- and you cannot be ignored.

Now is the time to pick up the phone and call potential supporters in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Make your voice heard and help reach our goal of one million calls before March 4th:

http://my.barackobama.com/call

Thank you for all your hard work, and for being a part of this historic moment.

Barack

P.S. -- Beginning this Saturday, March 1st, we're holding a One Million for Change canvass across Ohio as a lead up to their primary on March 4th. This canvass will be a great opportunity to reach out to Ohio voters, talk about why you are a part of this movement, and remind them to vote on Primary Day. I hope you'll take part.

catastrophic

Dear matthew,

Having George Bush gone ain't enough. We need to sweep out all of the Republican Senators who aided and abetted his catastrophic policies.

If you're like me and want to see some real change in November, we've got to make a real commitment to expanding our majority right now.

The sad truth of the United States Senate is that it's a lot easier to stop something from happening than to make something happen. And right now, Republicans are using their 49 seats like a roadblock, stopping the change that voters all across this country demanded. The answer isn't to get frustrated at our leaders, it's to give Senate Democrats the reinforcements they need.

No organization is doing more to make sure that Democrats can win the seats needed to expand our one-seat Senate majority than the good folks at the DSCC, and they've got a monthly fundraising goal they have to meet in order to get it done.

Click here to make a contribution of $50, $75 or more to help the DSCC expand our Senate majority. Donate now to help us raise the $60,534 needed to beat our February 29 goal, and a group of Democratic senators will match every single dollar you give, effectively doubling your contribution.

We know that no matter what happens in the race for the White House this November, we're going to need a strong Democratic Senate - either to help pass the agenda of a Democratic president, or block a virtual third Bush term from President McCain (and believe me, I hope this is the only time I ever have to say those words).

The key to winning these seats is a strong game plan. I can tell you that the DSCC has this thing all mapped out. They know what we're going to need, where, and when. But if they're going to execute, they need to raise $60,534 by February 29th.

Click here to make a contribution of $50, $75 or more to help the DSCC expand our Senate majority. Donate now to help us raise the $60,534 needed to beat our February 29 goal, and a group of Democratic senators will match every single dollar you give, effectively doubling your contribution.

There's no question, we have to pump up our majority, and we don't need any performance enhancing drugs to do it - we just need to support the DSCC, and make sure they meet their monthly fundraising goal.

Help us strengthen our majority right now.

Let's have at em,

James Carville

with all that obama-mentum, it's hard to remember there's another candidate with as much support?

Dear john,
Help win on March 4
photo Sign up to travelMake Calls

My favorite part of working on my mom's campaign is talking to people one-on-one about why they should vote for her. We can use all the help we can get to tell people about why my mom is the leader we all need! There are two great ways for you to help us all win on March 4:

1. We need as many people on the ground in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont as we can get.

If you can travel to any of these states to volunteer March 1-4, you can make a huge difference for my mom's campaign. And take my word for it -- there is no more exciting place to be than on the campaign trail right now!

Please click here to sign up to travel to a March 4 state.

2. We need you on the phones, making calls right from your own home.

Earlier this month, I asked our online community to commit to making a million calls. We blew right past that goal, making record numbers of calls into key states. First, congratulations everyone and thank you!! Second, let's keep it going and try to make more than 1.5 million calls this week!

Please click here to make phone calls from your own home on my mom's behalf.

I've been doing everything I can to help, criss-crossing the primary states, talking to thousands of people. And you know my mom is working her heart out. I'm so proud of the way she keeps fighting every day for what she believes in and for the America she knows we can be.

Thanks for doing everything you are doing,

Chelsea

Ron Paul Revolution still alive?

February 26, 2008

What thrilling rallies we've just had in Texas. First there were the
Students for Ron Paul at the University of Texas in Austin. The
media said 4,000 came. Our people think there were more like 7,000.
In any event, it was a very enthusiastic gathering of our
revolutionaries, as even the media admitted.

You will not be surprised to know that the young people there cheered
the pure message of liberty: no preemptive wars, no Federal Reserve,
no income tax, no police state, no drug war. Just American liberty
and the Constitution, in the tradition of the framers.

But the rally in Kileen, though much smaller, may have been just as
significant. Kileen is near Fort Hood, and among the 300 people who
attended were many active-duty soldiers (though not in uniform) and
their families. Whether it was the young man going back to Iraq for
his fourth tour, or the sister of a soldier just killed there, they
all wanted change in our foreign policy. Most heartbreaking was the
young mother who asked for a signed copy of the Constitution for her
son, "who will never know his dad." He too was just killed in Iraq.

How can we ask one young American to die for a neocon empire? The
soldiers and their families agree with us, which is why our campaign
gets more financial support from active-duty and retired military
than all the rest combined. They want to defend America, not be part
of some globalist scheme to take away our country's independence.
And by the way ,at both rallies, nobody was for the monstrous
Trans-Texas Corridor or the North American Union.

Coming up soon are the Texas and Ohio primaries, with others like
Pennsylvania not long afterwards. We are contesting every one, and
we will be heard at the Republican national convention in Minneapolis
and beyond. A substantial minority of Americans in all parties, not
to speak of Independents, agree with you and me. Until November and
beyond, I want to work to turn that minority into a majority, with
your help. https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/

Sincerely,

Ron

The Democratic Primary: now #2 responsible for global warming

[It's heating up]

Make a matching donationThis morning, the New York Times reported that Senator Clinton is launching what even her aides admit is a "kitchen sink" bombardment of negative attacks against Barack.

This is the same stale, Washington playbook that has driven so many Americans away from the political process.

Yesterday, in a speech on foreign policy, Senator Clinton misrepresented Barack's positions and compared him to George W. Bush.

She questioned his "wisdom to manage our foreign policy and safeguard our national security," despite her support for Bush's war in Iraq -- a war that Barack showed the judgment to oppose before it ever began.

These negative tactics are exactly what voters have been rejecting this election season.

While others focus on trying to tear us down, we will continue to highlight what is most inspiring and most important about this campaign -- you.

And while others may try to score cheap political points, millions of ordinary Americans are talking to their neighbors, knocking on doors, making phone calls, and turning out to primaries and caucuses in record numbers to support this movement for change.

Barack has organized and inspired what yesterday's Time magazine called a "new breed of grassroots campaign -- viral, internet-based, built from the ground up."

Today, we are within reach of a goal that is unprecedented at this point in a presidential primary -- one million people giving to this campaign.

Thank you for being a part of this historic moment.

This campaign has always been about bringing new people into the political process. Please help us reach this goal and show your support for a new kind of politics and a new kind of leadership.

mccain is still in trouble

matt --

I'm Joe Sandler, General Counsel for the DNC. Yesterday we filed a complaint with the FEC after John McCain decided to break the law by ignoring the rules laid out as part of the federal matching funds program.

I don't know if you saw the news, but the press covered the complaint all day. John McCain himself directly responded to Governor Dean at a press conference, saying "We're doing exactly what Howard Dean did in a previous election and what the FEC ruled in the case of Congressman Gephardt."

But that's a lie -- John McCain isn't doing what Governor Dean and Congressman Gephardt did at all.

Governor Dean and Congressman Gephardt followed the law and were granted written permission by the FEC to withdraw from the federal matching funds program.

To prove it, we have a copy of the letter Governor Dean received from the FEC in 2003 granting him permission to drop out. If McCain is doing "exactly what Howard Dean did," he'll have no trouble producing a letter of his own.

But you and I know McCain's lying -- he doesn't have a letter like that from the FEC. Not only has he refused to get permission, he's been warned by FEC Chairman David Mason that he can't unilaterally drop out of the program. That's why we filed the complaint in the first place, and it's why tens of thousands of Americans like you signed your support.

You can read Governor Dean's letter from the FEC and invite your friends and family to sign on in support right here:

http://www.democrats.org/invite/McCainBusted

John McCain abused the system to keep his campaign afloat until he could raise more money from special interests and lobbyists. Taxpayers don't want their money to be used by Washington politicians to help raise more money from lobbyists -- is this McCain's idea of ethics and reform?

Thanks to you, this "maverick reformer" is feeling the pressure of his own hypocrisy. From staffing his campaign with a team of lobbyists to breaking campaign finance laws, his total lack of integrity has never been more clear.

Keep it up,

is someone running out of money?

Dear john,

You have joined the campaign at an amazing time. This weekend, our supporters surpassed a $1.3 million goal President Clinton set to help us get a powerful new ad on the air in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Now we need your help to expand our buy.

We still face a spending gap on the air with our opponent. Senator Obama is putting everything on the line to win on March 4, and he has virtually unlimited funds. We cannot let his massive war chest be the deciding factor in this race.

Every dollar you give today will make a difference to help Hillary win. Everything that comes in is going right back out to fund critical efforts to get out the vote and put ads like "Moment" on the air.

Click here to watch the ad and make a contribution.

Thank you for your incredible support.

Sincerely,

Huckabee does Texas

Tomorrow we will begin television advertising statewide in Texas.

Right now, I need you to make an immediate contribution of $25 or more to our campaign. We need your support to help increase our television advertising and pay for a new wave of get out the vote calls.

I have a full schedule of events in Texas starting on Wednesday and will campaign through the weekend. We have a great opportunity to win Texas but that will not happen without your immediate financial support. We are just over 50% of the way to our goal of $1.5 million by March 4. We need to close the gap immediately.

Will you help us reach this goal by making an immediate contribution?

We are counting on your renewed support. Now is the time to make a difference for our campaign. After you make a contribution please call through your lists of friends and family and convince them to make a contribution as well. No contribution amount is too small.

Big issues are at stake this election. Republicans need a champion who will fight for real border security, the Human Life Amendment, the Marriage Amendment, conservative judges, massive tax reform and cutting federal spending. These are issues worth fighting for.

If you want to see a Republican nominee who will fight for these issues everyday on the campaign trail, then I am your candidate. Tell your neighbors. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Remind them this race isn't over.

Our Party needs a strong champion capable of taking on Senator Obama or Senator Clinton. I am that candidate. I have been a Governor for 10 and 1/2 years. I have fought for these issues and I have the experience to get things done. I know real change doesn't start in Washington, it starts in our hearts and when it does, anything is possible. My hopes are high and you and your family remain first and foremost in my thoughts. I have been fighting for you since Day 1 and I continue to do so.

Please make an immediate contribution of $25 or more today. We have come so far together. Lets continue onward.

Texas for Huckabee!

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

busted?

Dear matt,

We are filing a complaint with the FEC. Sign your support. There was a lot of talk last week about John McCain's blatant hypocrisy on ethics and integrity in Washington.

Here we go again.

McCain is now breaking the law by ignoring the campaign spending restrictions for the Republican primary that came when he asked for federal matching funds -- funds he used as collateral on a loan that helped keep his campaign going.

But now that the lobbyist and special interest money has started pouring into his campaign, he's trying to back out of the promise he made just a few months ago. They're feeding so much cash into his bank account, this "reformer" wants nothing to do with federal campaign finance laws anymore.

That's why today, we're filing a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission demanding that John McCain be held to the campaign finance laws. Trying to back out shows a total lack of integrity and honesty -- he made a deal with the American people to to abide by the law, and in return, he was guaranteed taxpayer money that he used to back a loan.

matt, I'd like you to add your name in support of our complaint, and ask as many people as you can to sign on. American taxpayers made a deal with John McCain -- now that he's flush with lobbyist cash, he wants to pretend that it never happened.

Sign on right now:

http://www.democrats.org/McCainBusted

Here's the background on the situation.

A few months ago, John McCain applied for and was approved to receive federal matching funds. Because he couldn't find enough people to fund his campaign, he was also forced to apply for a $4 million line of credit, which he secured by using the federal matching funds as collateral.

By taking the federal funding, he agreed to spend no more than $57 million until the Republican convention. But so far, his campaign has spent at least $49 million -- leaving him with less than $10 million to campaign with through September.

Now that he's won the nomination and has the support of the Republican lobbyist and special interest machine, he's trying to ignore that the whole thing ever happened. He recently wrote a letter to the FEC telling them that he was backing out, even though the FEC is very clear that any request to withdraw from the agreement must be approved; you can't just change your mind and take it back -- legally, you have to be given permission.

McCain isn't asking because he knows he'll never be granted permission, and he doesn't want to have to accept the funding restrictions he agreed to when he used the money as collateral for a loan. He's ripping a page right from George Bush's playbook: ignoring the laws when they aren't convenient and hoping no one will notice.

Stand up and show him that hundreds of thousands of people have noticed -- he can't change the rules in the middle of the game because he doesn't like how things are going for him:

http://www.democrats.org/McCainBusted

Using government programs when it's politically convenient and breaking the rules when it's not ... remind you of anyone?

Just like George Bush, John McCain thinks he's above the law. McCain poses as a reformer, but seems to think reforms apply to everyone but him.

Time to send him a message.

Matthew --

Make a matching donation A week from tomorrow could be the decisive day in this campaign.

We started behind in the two biggest states that will vote on March 4th, Ohio and Texas, but as we spend time on the ground, we are gaining strength.

But that's nothing new for us. We have started as the underdog in just about every state. And thanks to a growing movement of support from ordinary people across the country, we came from behind and won the last 11 contests in a row.

We can do this again.

It's not going to be easy -- attacks from our Democratic opponent and the presumptive Republican nominee are growing more frequent and more desperate. And the size of these two states will require unprecedented energy and resources to organize supporters and persuade undecided voters.

But we're within striking distance of our goal of one million people owning a piece of this campaign by March 4th, and every single person getting involved makes a difference.

If you make a donation through our matching program, you will double the impact of a first-time donor.

Encourage a fellow supporter to be one of the million. Make a matching donation right now:

https://donate.barackobama.com/promise

We're within reach of this extraordinary goal for the same reason we've come from behind to unexpectedly win 26 out of 37 contests so far.

We're succeeding because our campaign has always been about bringing new people into the process.

Thanks to you, we're on the verge of history. Please do what you can to see this through.

Thank you,

Barack

Dear Matthew,

Get Out The Vote in Ohio

Something special is going on in Ohio this weekend.

All across the state, supporters are launching a One Million for Change canvass -- with the goal of knocking on one million doors before the Ohio primary on March 4th.

This effort is a terrific opportunity to reach out to Ohio voters face-to-face, and to put our amazing grassroots energy to work in support of Barack in the final days before the primary. The race in Ohio is extremely close, so we need supporters from all over to get involved.

Sign up to take a trip to Ohio for the One Million for Change canvass, and help Get Out The Vote for Barack:

http://oh.barackobama.com/OHOneMillion

Across the country, we've seen the amazing things that happen when people work together, united behind a common purpose.

Now, we're heading into the March 4th Ohio primary with the most states, the most delegates, and having won the last 11 contests in a row.

The election in Ohio will play an important role in determining the Democratic nominee for President. Our Democratic opponent has indicated that Ohio is a "must-win" state, so a strong showing for our campaign in this contest could help decide the outcome of the nomination race.

The One Million for Change canvass is an important way to make that happen. Be part of this effort, and help make sure Ohio voters hear about the kind of change that Barack will bring to Washington.

No prior experience is required, and I promise this will be an experience of a lifetime. Come to Ohio, meet your fellow supporters, and talk to Ohio voters about why you are a part of this movement.

Learn more and sign up to canvass now:

Together, we can change America.

See you this weekend,

I'm not dead yet!

My candidacy is, and always has been, about convictions – and the issues and core values that are critical to our country’s future, such protecting traditional marriage, the sanctity of life, individual empowerment and a revamping of our federal tax code to encourage productivity. It’s about lifting Americans up, from hope to higher ground, with a positive vision for America’s future that is grounded in a belief in our nation’s basic goodness, and defined by a ‘can—do’ spirit that knows how to gets things done. My goal is to offer Republican voters, a voice and a choice in this election.

The last four out of five U.S. Presidents have been governors, and there is a reason for this: the challenges facing our nation require steady, experienced, executive management. As governor of Arkansas for 10 ½ years, I delivered on my promises to cut taxes 94 times, reduce welfare by half, reform health care for children and our education system, and transform our transportation infrastructure. My record of results, achieved with a Democrat legislature, gives a meaningful viability to my candidacy.

There are millions of Republicans from across this country who have yet to be heard from. Clearly we were disappointed by the results in Wisconsin, but I look forward to campaigning hard in Texas and Ohio this week – and taking my case before the good people of those states.

I encourage you to leave a comment on our campaign blog today and share with me your thoughts.

Emailing you from the road in Texas and with deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

We had great events this week in Plano, Houston and San Antonio. Our message is resonating and voters are enthusiastic. Too many however, report of friends and family that have bought into the media story that Senator McCain has clinched the nomination. He has not and until he does our campaign is committed to pushing onward.

Texas is a great state for us to seize the momentum. We feel our success hinges on our ability to fund our get out the vote efforts and a new round of statewide television and radio advertising.

What we need, is additional funding for this advertising and our get out the vote strategy. Will you help us spread our message by making a contribution of $25 or more today?

Your support is critical to our efforts here in Texas. I urge you to strongly consider an immediate contribution.

We rely completely on the support of individuals like you and that is why I am hoping I can count on you today.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

bring out the big guns?

Dear john,

Thursday night in the debate, in one remarkable moment, we saw the kind of president Hillary is going to be -- the strong, compassionate, and brilliant woman who will make us proud as president.

Everyone in the upcoming primary states of Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont needs to see that moment. The campaign has put together a 60-second ad with the video, but we cannot run it without your immediate financial support. We need to raise $1.3 million in the next 24 hours to put this ad on the air.

Watch the ad and make a contribution to help us get it on the air.

We're just 10 days away from a monumental day of voting, one that will decide the outcome of this remarkable contest between two history-making campaigns. The Obama campaign realizes the stakes and is putting it all on the line with a massive advertising campaign.

We have to give Hillary the resources she needs to make this a fair fight -- including running the ad based on her amazing moment from Thursday night's debate. We need to raise $1.3 million to get this ad on the air and to match the Obama campaign's ad spending in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont. We have to reach that goal in the next 24 hours.

Watch our new ad and contribute to help us get it on the air in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

With your extraordinary help she will win. And knowing that you are there for her now, as you have been throughout this race, means more than you can possibly imagine.

We can do this together. Let's keep working.

Mccain under fire? srsly?

Dear McCain Supporter,

Well, here we go. We could expect attacks were coming; as soon as John McCain appeared to be locking up the Republican nomination, the liberal establishment and their allies at the New York Times have gone on the attack. Today's front-page New York Times story is particularly disgusting - an un-sourced hit-and-run smear campaign designed to distract from the issues at stake in this election. With John McCain leading a number of general-election polls against Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the New York Times knew the time to attack was now, and they did. We will not allow their scurrilous attack against a great American hero to stand.

The New York Times -- the newspaper that gave MoveOn.org a sweetheart deal to run advertisements attacking General Petraeus -- has shown once again that it cannot exercise good journalistic judgment when it comes to dealing with a conservative Republican. We better get ready for more of the Democrats' attacks over the coming months as the Democrats pick their nominee, MoveOn.org starts spending their unlimited soft money, and the liberal media tosses standards aside in an attempt to stop our momentum. We need your help to counteract the liberal establishment and fight back against the New York Times by making an immediate contribution today.

John McCain has a 24-year record of serving our country with honor and integrity. He has led the charge to limit the money and influence of the special interests in politics and stomp out corruption. His life and his record prove just how preposterous the smear by the New York Times really is.

Objective observers are viewing this article exactly as they should - as a sleazy smear attack from a liberal newspaper against the conservative Republican frontrunner. Sean Hannity said, after reading the article three times, "It was so full of innuendo and so lacking of fact, and so involved in smear, I came to the conclusion that the goal here was to bring up a 20-year-old scandal." Washington attorney Bob Bennett, who was the Democrat counsel during the Keating investigation, said, "This is a real hit job." Joe Scarborough called the allegations "outrageous." Even pundit Alan Colmes -- not known for his conservative leanings -- concludes "this is a non-story."

Yet, it is there, right on the front page of the New York Times. It is now dominating the cable news coverage. We can only expect these sorts of baseless attacks to continue as we move into the general election cycle. We are going to need your help today, and your continued help in the future to have the resources to respond. We'll never match the reach of a front-page New York Times article, but with your immediate help today, we'll be able to respond and defend our nominee from the liberal attack machine.

Sincerely,

Rick Davis

My Friends,

Last night, I was able to thank the people of Wisconsin and Washington for bringing me one step closer to securing our party's nomination for president. Today, I want to specially thank my online supporters for your hard work that has brought me to this point. As we move toward officially securing the nomination, I am actively working to unite our party for the great contest that we face in November. If I am to succeed in this endeavor, I will need your help as a valued and active member of my team.

We have traveled a great distance together already in this campaign, and overcome more than a few obstacles. But as I said last week, now comes the hard part and for America, the bigger decision. Will we make the right changes to restore the people's trust in their government and meet the great challenges of our time with wisdom and faith in the values we hold dear? Or will we heed appeals for change that ignore the lessons of history, and lack confidence in the intelligence and ideals of free people?

I will fight every moment of every day in this campaign to make sure Americans are not deceived by an eloquent, but empty call for change that promises no more than a holiday from history and a return to the false promises and failed policies of a tired philosophy that trusts in government more than people. Our purpose is to keep this blessed country free, safe, prosperous and proud. And the changes we offer to the institutions and policies of government will reflect and rely upon the strength, industry, aspirations and decency of the people we serve.

The most important obligation of the next president is to protect Americans from the threat posed by violent extremists who despise us, our values and modernity itself. The institutions and doctrines we relied on in the Cold War are no longer adequate to protect us in a struggle where suicide bombers might obtain the world's most terrifying weapons.

That is why my friends, while I am confident of the eventual outcome of this primary race - the stakes are too high to take the nomination for granted. There are still more primaries, there are still three of us competing for the nomination and I am still working night and day to make sure that we have the funds necessary to compete and win the remaining state primaries.

I don't often get much free time on the campaign trail, but I was able to record a special video message that I hope you will take a few minutes to watch by following this link today.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

John McCain

P.S. With each primary contest, our campaign moves closer to officially securing the Republican Party's nomination for president. I have recorded a special video message and I hope you will take a few minutes to watch it by following this link. Thank you, I am grateful for your dedication and support.

Hillary needs your help

Dear john,
Help win on March 4 in Ohio and Texas

Here's what you need to know this morning. We were outspent in Wisconsin by a 4 to 1 margin on ads -- and we can't let that happen on March 4.

If we want to win in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont, we've got to even the odds. We can't let the Obama campaign overwhelm us financially. Today, I am calling on you and other online supporters to act together, making sure we have the resources to create a fair, level playing field on March 4.

Contribute now to help us level the playing field.

Let this remarkable two-person contest for the Democratic nomination be determined by the strength of our ideas, the quality of our leadership, or the depth of our experience. But whatever you do, don't let the outcome of these crucial March 4 contests be decided by a lopsided spending advantage for the Obama campaign.

Only you -- our incredible online community -- can act quickly and decisively enough to create a level playing field. And with everything on the line, that's exactly what I'm asking you to do.

We're putting everything on the line. Contribute now.

There are just two weeks left before voters go to the polls in one of the most crucial days of voting yet. We must make sure we can hold our own against an avalanche of Obama TV ads, direct mail, phone calls, and online advertising.

I have total confidence that, as long as we have the resources to compete, March 4 will be a day of dramatic victories for our campaign. Let's make it happen.

Thanks,

Hillary
Hillary Rodham Clinton

P.S. I am counting on your leadership and financial support. Please do all you can -- and act as quickly as possible.
